See what happens...

...when you leave the tear in your jeans...it gets to be sooo big your bum hangs out!! I finally got round to repairing both pairs of jeans yesterday afternoon by using some of the double sheet I got from the charity shop. I figured the holes are so big now I might as well make a feature of them ;o). Both pairs of jeans are so tatty now, but at least they'll last a couple more months.

Hello again

Just popping back in to show you a couple of things. Above and below are different chokers I crocheted the other night. The above one needs finishing and blocking. Loving these flowers.

I've had a few orders for the crocheted headbands with flowers on too. Hoping to get some in the shops later. I would like to make some rainbow crocheted star bunting to go in the shops too - got some yellow and blue done already. I've got soooo many ideas for things that it feels like my head will pop :0). Few for christmas cards too, so I'm either too late or reaaalllly early ;o).

I've added a new section on my sidebar as well. My Mum always had a pile of clothes that needed repairing on top of her sewing box, so I'm starting my own make do and mend pile. I got a couple more socks darned the other night and these are the ones that still need doing. There's also a sheet with a tear in it, some bargain curtains I picked up at the charity shop that still need shortening, a cardigan that's had a button missing for I-don't-know-how-many-years, and my coat that's had a button missing for a year too. Anyone care to join me?

Hope everyone is having a good day so far. xxxx

Who needs Facebook anyway!

Firstly, let me show you my gorgeous prize from the talented, strong, beautiful, amazing woman - Polly. She had a give-away on her blog to celebrate opening her shop and I won :0). Of all her artwork the above is the one I love the most so it's fantastic that I now have a print of my very own. Thank you so much Polly.

So back to my title who needs facebook anyway! I know some people will think I'm slightly bonkers (actually I know a few people who think I'm more than bonkers ;o) ) but I darned some socks last night!!!! I found the Make Do and Mend book on the bootsale in the summer and it's full of really helpful stuff. Hubby was watching some of his programmes so I took myself off to the quiet (actually not really that quiet as I have a small child that is fastened to me with a very short piece of elastic) of my bedroom with my socks, some darning thread (bought years ago in a charity shop), my darning mushroom (another second hand gift), my needle book (handmade of course) and then spent a lovely evening darning socks. While sat there I was reminded of my Grandma who used to knit my Grandad his socks - it was such a lovely evening that continued long after the kids had gone to bed and hubby had gone to work. Who cares if I'm bonkers ;o).
