Beautiful

I thought I would treat myself so I contacted the lovely Pippa and requested an A6 notebook with a dandelion clock on the front.  Nothing more....just nice and simple.  Well she certainly managed my request.  Just look how gorgeous this is.  It's absolutely perfect for carrying in my bag..not heavy, but sturdy enough to withstand constant hands fumbling around in the bottom of said bag looking for things!  Thanks so much Pippa...perfect again :o)

PS..don't forget the give-away over on my shop blog

A fabulous day

I was booked in for a tattoo at 12 so off I went, on my own, book in bag! I would have a whole 3 hours to myself because of trains, etc. Tattoo took 10mins, so then off I went to grab a sarnie and some piece and quite to read. I sat by the river Humber, which is not the most gorgeous it has to be said, but the Humber Bridge was right in front of me, and the grass hoppers were singing merrily behind me while I read my book and ate my lunch....bliss. Then when I got home there was a parcel waiting for me, and my copy of Mollie Makes. Wanna see what was in the parcel....

...a new keyring, all hand-tooled. It is just fabulous, and made by the oh-so-talented Pippa.

The sun is shining too :o)

On the Wind

I've been wanting some prayer flags for a while, then while drooling my way through Etsy I came across these. Arn't they just gorgeous?! I wanted some that were the traditional prayer flag colours but with a modern twist. So, after saving my pennies I purchased some (Miranda Gray), then waited eagerly for them to arrive from all the way across the atlantic :o). I just love the prayer that they were wrapped in too.

This morning I swept and tidied my utility room where most people come in, cleaned the window on the door (shocking that I am cleaning windows) then hung them up so they can flutter away when the door opens and closes, sending prayers across the threshold, to everyone and everything outside and inside :o).

Busy busy

Finished the bag for toys on Tuesday and delivered it yesterday. Going to make a matching playmat as well (got that pinned, tacked and ready to go for later). Also got another order for a bag - this one is rather urgent so I started that last night. Really need to spend a couple of hours updating the shops as well as some of the stuff has been sold, but privately.
I've also borrowed my sisters sewing machine (yipee) so hopefully I'll get a few things done a bit quicker. Really need to get mine sorted but something else always comes up that needs the cash. Need to prioritise better :-).
Also put in my first order to Suma, so I'll let you know what it's like when it arrives next week.
Right off to get busy.

All sorts today

I've been making some brooch/keyring holders and sorting out my bits that I've made - adding labels, stickers and price tags. Quite pleased with them. I ordered some stickers from Moo a couple of weeks back which arrived a few days later. I didn't show you them because I wasn't overly happy with them (not the fault of Moo) - I have stuck them onto the card for now though.

This is a crochet cuff bracelet that I made. I've left this one plain but I may do some more with beads and sequins. I've also had some more ideas for tin covers so you may see some more of those in the next few days.

Lastly is the extra wool that I ordered from Getknitted. It is absolutely gorgeous. I have ordered the ivory as well so hopefully that will be here next week. Going to have to be really careful from now on with my spends as money is very tight - drop in wages while everything else goes up!! Hopefully I'll managed to sell some bits.

I love these

Yesterday I spent 3 hours untangling and winding 4 balls of the wool that still adorns the rug in our lounge. In the evening I wanted to do something different so I got that pink dandelion/fairy material out and started these. A bit of wadding on the back, then highlighted areas using metallic threads and beads. I then stitched this onto some matching felt. I made one last night and two this afternoon while sat with poorly toddler. Then I added them onto card using double sided sticky tape and brads. Happy birthday Stamp, inner sheets and envelopes finished them off. Hopefully I'll do some more later as I'm really enjoying these and they look fab (much better in the flesh, so to speak). These will definitely be in the shops later on.
My sister has asked me to make some lipsalve for her and my niece so I'm going to try and get that done once I've found some small jars.

One for Etsy/Misi

Just finished the bag I was making so I thought I would show it to you all before I put it on Etsy/Misi. I haven't put anything on there for a while - hopefully that will change now.

Whirring

I've got so many ideas running round in my head I can't seem to concentrate on anything else. When I got up this morning I wrote it all down so I could use my brain for something else (like internet browsing :-) ). Anyway, last night I managed to update my Etsy shop, so both shops have got the full stock in (ooh, just listen to me).

This afternoon I've been looking for small cotton labels so I can stitch them onto the fabric items that I make. The ones I went for are here. I have to say that price was a factor in my decision as I would have prefered some organic cotton ones but they would have had to have from the US at $350/1000 plus postage. Anyway, we shall see what they look like when they arrive.

Storage can

I started another can cover last night for a 330ml tin. I got all the fabric stitched on (from the lovely Sarah), then stitched the buttons on, then checked the measurements around the tin before I finished the edging off.......it didn't fit! Although I'd measured for the felt, I only measured the cotton fabric against the felt and not the tin - felt stretches, cotton fabric doesn't
:-(. So I left it last night then started again this evening. I had a pilchard tin which is smaller so I unpicked all the stitching, cut it down to size then re-made it again. This is to go in my shops when I've taken some better pictures - think I need to play around in different light to get it right.
After I finished the 2nd lego/toy mat yesterday afternoon Ds3 told me he wanted his 'road' mat. So I've cut out some strips of black cotton and pinned them on some old material. I'm going to add some greenery and brown cord (for ploughed fields!) and some blue for a pond. I best go start stitching that now.

Woooohoooooooooo!

After finalling managing to speak to my sister and brother about Mums things, I've managed to convince them (sounds like I was brainwashing them but I wasn't) to let me buy the few things I would like and sell the rest as they both wanted. I feel like a weight has been lifted - I'm very, very happy - and it seems that my brother and sister will be happy once they've got some cash for their kids. I don't want to sound angry at them, they have their ways and I have mine, so we've all got the outcome we wanted. Woohoooooo.

Thank you for the comments as well, I'm so glad it wasn't just me that felt that way. Your support is much appreciated.

Another good thing this afternoon was my domain name at Misi was approved - yipee. Hubby made my banners and avatar for that one and for the one I've set up on Etsy. Just need to stock them now :-).

So, all in all the day has turned out fantastic.
