The Father's Day card I made for my Dad. Things seem to be going ok with him at the moment so lets keep our fingers crossed.

These are the items we received in the GP season swap - a gorgeous foxglove fairy and a dog rose fairy. They are both absolutely beautiful. We also received a display card with the lifecycle of the ladybird on it. Thank you very much.

This was part of the swap I sent out. It's a crocheted sun bowl. I also made a felt butterfly and a lavendar wand but forgot to photograph them.

My Father-in-law fetched some more beeswax from the car boot sale at York racecourse on Saturday. It's surprising how different the colours are compared to the other wax I have. This morning I made 2 candles with them. I think the wicks are had left are actually too thin but I'll give them a go ;-).

My Mother-in-Law brought some fabric square panels that are usually used for patchwork cushions. She's given me 4 and ordered 2 bags from me with the other 2.

I've not done much on the ordered bag this week so I sat and did a bit more last night. Going to try and do a little bit this afternoon while peeping at Wimbledon :-).

Extra season swap item

I know this has arrived now so I can show you. A spring lady made with a bendy wooden doll and felt clothes. I also sent one of the tiny knitted chicks.

Another keyring

This evening I've made another season table swap item for someone who didn't receive theirs and then I made another keyring. I'll show you the swap item in a few days just in case they check my blog.

GP Season table swap

Here's my swap items I received from the very talented Ali. Thank you so, so much - we have been truely spoilt. There's a rain cloud gnome for April showers, an earth gnome with his bag of corn, a spring lady holding a bunch of flowers, a felt sheep, some wooden stick-ons and a spring card.

My Spring Season Table Swap

This is the first part of my swap - a beeswax egg candle. I broke the top off one of our eggs (we have chickens) then emptied the contents out. I then melted the wax over a pan of hot water and poured it into the egg. Once the wick was added I just allowed it to cool, then trimmed the wick.

I'm so mad as well because I forgot to photograph the other part which was a blossom fairy. I made it weeks and weeks ago so it got wrapped up ready - it wasn't until I was sticking the envelope up that I realised.

On a roll

So far today I've managed to make some lipsalve and the second part of the GP season table swap. Swap pictures will be up in March, after the actual swap, but these two pictures are from the lipsalve making. I've used beeswax, cocoa butter and extra virgin olive oil - not sure whether I should have but they feel lovely on my lips :-). I think I should have paid attention to how much of each I used as well, but that serves me right for trying to do it while making the lunch!

Knitting scarfs and gnomes

Yesterday I sat and made one part of my GP Spring season table swap (piccie at the end of March) and then I started the luminous scarf which has been on my to-do list for ages. I kept putting it off because the wool is not nice to knit with (100% acrylic) and the colour is yellow! Anyway I then read Becks's blog about her knitting a scarf where she'd used two balls of wool together with bigger needles - fantastic. So now I've nearly finished it, and I'm trying to use all the wool so I don't have to knit Ds2 anything else with it :-).

I managed to get hold of another cork today so I knitted a yellow gnome. This is the first time I've knitted with 2 different colours as well. I've actually put a wanted post on the GP forum for corks, so they'll be breeding soon ;-).

I found them :-) These are the season table swap items I made. The top one is a collecting bowl for putting things in and the second is a felt robin.

Swap update and Ebay Fabric

I've finished the swap item - YIPEE!!!!!!! I had a sudden flash of inspiration so I sat and made it then. I've taken photos but I'm not putting them on here until next Sunday.

The photo is of the fabric I went looking for on ebay the other day. The person I'm making the bag for loves blues and purples so this batik print was just perfect. Hope they like it as much as I do ;-)

GP Season table swap

Now I am really starting to panic about this swap. I was doing 2 bits for the swap - the first is done and looks ok. The second bit......well, I have made 2 different things now and I am not happy with either of them. I have just spent the last 40 mins trawling the internet looking for inspiration (having already been through my books twice) and have found nothing so far. Aargh. Don't you just hate it when the things look great in your head but look pants when you actually make them :-(

Felt food, wool and season table swap.

Blimey, has it been 5 days since I was last here. I've been making some felt food (I've managed 3 carrots, 1 ravioli and 2 burgers so far) and my 2 season table swap items. I tried making some felt snowflakes for the swap, but the felt was just too thick and I didn't like them so I've changed the second thing I'm making.

The top picture is both colours of the wool I ordered.

Off to look on ebay now for some funky blue material to line a cotton bag with.

Dog bed, quilts and season table swap

Our dog needs a new bed and our ds3 needs a quilt for his bed so I decided to cut up our winter quilt to make both. After I'd cut down the length about 2/3rds of the way across I ended up with a 3 ft quilt and a 2 ft long strip for the dog bed. I've already blanket stitched the dog bed back together where it was cut, and I've tied ribbons on the 2 ends so it can be folded in half and fastened up. I've just got to make a cover for this now. I'll stitch the quilt back together this evening (hopefully) and then it can go on his bed (not that he actually sleeps in it much) ;-)

My head was whirring too much last night so after I finished on here I decided to make a prototype for the season table swap. Half an hour later it was finished and I am very happy with it. Hopefully make the other one later or tomorrow and then I'll have time to make the proper ones ready for posting next weekend.

Advent calendar

Well here it is finished. Thank goodness - I really didn't want to be doing this at the last minute. My sister is actually booked in for a C-section on 11 December, so in theory I had plenty of time - but you just never know so he's got it if he decides to put in an early appearance :-).

Now this is done it means I've actually got 6 whole days to make the GP season table swap item. Just need to decide what I'm doing now.

Toadstool Fairies

Well, I got both Fairies completed over the weekend, and one has been posted this morning. Tried to get a bit more done on the advent calendar but ds3 got up again after going to bed early last night, so that put a stop to that.

Did a bit of research online (that's my excuse for being on here anyway) for the Season Table Swap. Have a few ideas but still not sure what I'm going to do. Best get a shift on though as it needs posting at the end of the month.

I've been thinking about the wonderful website Folksy. There is some absolutely gorgeous stuff on there -very talented people. After Christmas I may look into setting up an account - not sure I can compete or have anything that anyone wants - I'll see what happens.
