Crab apples and sloes/plums which I'm hoping to use for a hedgerow cordial - I'll let you know what it tastes like!




A couple of treats bought with earnings. The doodle stitching book it just gorgeous and only £5.49 from Amazon. Hopefully good things to get me started with 'proper' embroidery. The other is for me to carry round in my bag as the foraging books I have in the house are far to big really. The ladies at GP forum recommended this.

It's all very exciting on the website front - the name I wanted is available so I'm very very happy. Just got to wait a couple of days for it to be set up - in the meantime I've been having a little play with how it will look. I get butterflies just thinking about it :-).

Finished

Finished the second bag last night. This one seems to have taken ages but I'm really pleased with them. They have been quilted but the pictures don't show that up very well.

I found this book in the charity shop the other day for 25p. Its got some really good bits in it - I don't care if it's meant for kids ;-).

Thank you all again for the lovely comments that you leave me. I find it quite astounding that people that I admire and respect actually like the things that I do. Oh, and the bootsale in York where the beeswax came from is held on the racecourse.

Catch up

Cor blimey - I've got buttons swimming before my eyes!! I've spent the last three evenings sorting out that bag of buttons and integrating it into the household collections. There were so many that the kids button shoebox is almost full, and I've re-arranged mine too. I was in the charity shops again yesterday looking for jars to put them in and found three - perfect - and they only cost me £1.30 too. I already had the 2 old yankee candle jars so now I've sorted mine out by colour.

I also finished the baby snuggly for Claire, but in my haste to get it in the post, I forgot to take a piccie :-(. Never mind. Same for the holly fairy too, which was for Joxy. My mind is working so fast these last few weeks that I seem to be getting ahead of myself, only to realise later on that something has been forgotten (sigh).

Other piccies are my new book, which was ordered at the same time as the others, but they were awaiting stock, and the summer Living crafts magazine. Haven't had a chance to look at these yet because of aforementioned buttons, but hopefully later. Lastly is more alpacca wool from a lovely GP mama. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Lastly, we spent a lovely hour today picking more elderflowers for more cordial as we seem to be drinking it at an alarming rate ;-).

Busy, busy

I've been really busy these last few days. I've made a horse keyring for Claire (piccies after she's recieved it), I've been doing the pink bag, I've made strawberry jam this morning, and I've been round the charity shops again. I only found a couple of balls of wool (plus other bits for the kids) and then I got some jute string for crafting.

The house smelt lovely this morning while I was doing the strawberry jam - I think more people would make it if they knew how easy it was. We love strawberry jam in this house, so this will be the first of many batches to last us the year.

I ordered a few books from Amazon, which arrived this morning. they are full of gorgeous things. The long awaited (or it seems like that anyway) fabric arrived today too. Now I can finish the garden bag as the fabric with the cockerel on it was there too. Depending on how the day goes there may be a picture of that later.

Sorting through my craft books

As I have sooo many books I thought I'd sort through some of them. I have managed to reduce my 25ish craft books by an amazing 4 (he he). I've put them onto The Green Parent Forum. http://thegreenparent.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=3445.0

Last night I managed to get one more strip of pockets done on the advent calendar and another pinned in place ready for me to stitch (there are six in total). That means I still have four to do - and then putting it all together and stitching it up.
