Quick update

My address labels arrived this afternoon - very pleased with them. I was going to upload one of my own pictures (as I did with the Moo cards) but that worked out very expensive with the website I used.

I've also managed to cover a 4'x 2.5' piece of foam which will be part of our bed in the splitty, and I've made 2 cushion covers. The one above matches the sign writing that is on the side of the van. The other one is just plain black.

Cushion finished

Remember my first lot of crochet way back here - well I finally found some material to make the actual cushion cover with. The green sheet I got in the charity shop the other week was the perfect colour but I hadn't even thought of it for this job. The actual case is not perfect but I don't mind (well, maybe a little bit) - serves me right for rushing as usual :-).

Whoops

Ta Joxy, see I was so excited I forgot to tell you what I was going to do with them. As the only hook I have is a 10/3.25mm? then the squares are quite small (2 and a bit inches) so I was going to make a cushion with them - I'll need to back it with some fabric or I'm going to see if I can find a wool jumper in the charity shops to make a back with. Must keep a look out for crochet hooks as well.

Arn't old sheets great?

It's been a very productive day today - we do get them sometimes. After making the wrapping paper bag I got carried away slightly and made the dog bed cover (yes it does have cats and mice on it), re-made the felt sausages as we didn't like them in a string and re-stitched the eyes on the green mini monster (yes this is the 3rd set he's had). That's a couple off things of my list.

And, Hubby is happy with this pile of soft rags that were left over from the sheet as well.

Mini monster

After sorting out Ds3's bedroom and wardrobe I took these out as they have a couple of stains on them so they are no good for the charity shop. I'll try and think of something to make them into. The last t-shirt that we didn't want to part with was made into a cushion which sits on his bed. (I'll try and remember to post a picture). Any suggestions very welcome.

Some of my work

This is my Autumn bag that I made. I got the fabric off Ebay as I just loved it. I didn't use a pattern for this bag.

The next picture is the first piece of crochet I have managed to do all by myself, as my Mum used to start it off for me and then I would take it from there. It's the first time I've done any in years. The next two pictures are cushion covers that I made

The green hat is the first time I have cast on stitches properly (my Mum did this for me too and then when I did learn to cast on myself I never did it properly). It has been a sad week with regards the knitting and crocheting but also a week where I should be proud of myself. I wish she could have been here to see that I have done these things myself . The book I used to help me with the casting on was Usbourne book of How to Knit, and the crotcheting book I used was hooked on Crochet by Candi Jensen.
