Oooh :o)

Just look what I found on the way to knitter knatters last night! How many times have I walked past this hedgerow and never ever seen them before!? I didn't get them last night though (I don't always carry a basket round with me ;o) ), but JJ and I did go and fetch them this morning, along with a fair few scratches.

We also brought home a gorgeous teasel...again with more scratches as I had to try and snap it with my fingers!! We resorted to a fabulous stone in the end that had a good sharp edge. Using the earth around us :o).

I also pulled this borage up from the side of the road..roots and all. Hopefully it will take in the pot.

I've also been working on these for the shop.....

...sorting through all my craft stuff and finishing this heart....

....making myself a very simple necklace with beads threaded on some waxed cord then with a simple button and loop fastening on the end (should have taken a picture of that).....

....making myself this gorgeous necklace with a piece of seaglass and some jewellery wire. I think the wire I got was actually too thick but I don't care...I love it!

Right, off to finish a commision piece for a customer while watching Despicable Me for the hundreth time!!

No moping here

Hubby was away in Belgium over the weekend so I stayed busy to save on the moping about. Home ed group on Thursday, my sisters for tea on Friday, then Waddington Air show on Saturday. After the three hour queue to get in plus the 20 mins queue for the bus from the car park we finally got to see some planes up close :o). The red arrows were much to fast for my little phone ;o).

Sunday was spent doing a bit of housework, some crafting for the shop (see other blog for details ;o) ) then Knitter Knatter. The owls above are a sneaky peak at some more new cards for the shop. I started with the red one but wasn't quite happy with it...hence the blue and green ones which I love.

Hubby was back yesterday afternoon having had such fun, so now (after only a little bit of moping by moi) its back to normal.

More Birthdays!!

Finally finished the bag for my SIL the day before her birthday - it's a good job I'm organised not!! Her card was like the one below but it was purple felt/writing...this one is for my nephew who's birthday is today.

And here's something a little different. I'd had a ball of really chunky wool sat next to me for months (yes, organised again) as I couldn't decide what to do with it. Then I had an idea so I started, then added some other wools too and this is what I came up with...

...a bedside mat. It's really thick as I used a 9mm hook and really soft too. I've got another on the hook now ;o).

Hope everyone actually has some sunshine where you are, and that you have some lovely plans for the weekend. We're off to the local agricultural show in the next village and a mini heat wave has been forcast so it should be good.

Where does the time go!!

It's been such a busy week that I've not managed to get my little give-away done - since the weather is pants I'll try and get it done in the next couple of days. Back to the busy week...we've had a trip to Manchester to go to the Legoland Discovery Centre (what a complete waste of money that was!!) and I also took the opportunity to meet a lovely lady I've been chatting with online for a few years now.

I've been on a little freebie jewellery making course where we got to make a pair of earrings and got a free pack to bring home too. The ones on the left are the ones I made there, the ones on the right are the free set and the ones in the middle I made with some beads and wires (sorry findings) I had hanging about.

There's the usual home ed group and then there's the monthly farmers market where I'd managed to save some of my pennies to spend on the spinners stall...yay. I think the lady said this is hebridean but I can't remember ;o). It's a gorgeous grey colour, not particularly soft but not scratchy, so I just need to think what I'm going to use it for now.

And I've also been putting together a separate blog for the shop things. I'm hoping it will keep it a bit more professional looking, and I can keep the whinging ;o) to this blog. Hopefully it will keep me motivated where the shop is concerned too, although if it can manage to add a few hours to the day, that would be great too. If you pop over there now you'll see a couple of new cards I've managed to get done.

And then made these Christmas Eve morning ready to use later (we had our christmas dinner on Christmas Eve).

One lego play mat finished.

Two of these book tidy's for the side of the older boys beds. And I forgot to photograph the last bookmark.

Then yesterday, just because I was still in making mode I think, I made the crocheted headband my sister has ordered. I can take it to her today as we're all going for boxing day tea.

Just a quickie...

....as I'll be back later hopefully. First is a prototype birthday card for my shop - this one is for my nephew. I think I like it - maybe needs some flames. Second picture is our newly decorated pegs on our art/christmas card string in the living room. Glitter glue is great stuff - so easy for a 4 year old (and 36 year old!!!).

Birthdays, new members of the family, and treats

Exfoliating lavender soap, not very pretty but smells delicious, off in the shop later.

The lady that found Casper on the side of the road came knocking on our door on Tuesday with this little bundle in her car. Someone had dumped her at the village hall, and did we want her??!! Of course said we - so here is Willow. Approximately 8 weeks old, and the softest, friendliest cat you ever met.

JJ was 4 on Friday. He'd already had a choccy cake that we took to the home ed group, so we made this stacked pavalova for Friday - lovely it was too.

I read this blog, and love the artwork that she makes so I decided to treat myself when it went in her Misi shop. When it arrived the lovely lady had also put one of her printed artwork cards in as well. Go take a look she has some fantastic cards.

10/10/10

My darling Hubby's birthday is today - 10/10/10, what a date! I am so, so happy with his card. The campervan is the exact colour of our van...and I made it so he can use it as a badge too :o). Piccie of his cake - organic except for the sprinkles, as I didn't have 37 candles in the house. I love how the organic icing sugar makes this gorgeous pale gold colour - lovely (although extremely sickly).

I had some yogurt and some coconut milk that needed using up so I mixed them together with a little sugar and made ice-cream.

I've just finished a felt food order, so thought I'd finish these cards too. I'll get these in the shop tomorrow as the light isn't good enough to get a decent photo.

I've been struggling this last week with my mood/anger. I frightens me some times the anger that seems to build inside me so I've been trying to write things down in my journal. It seems to help for a little but I think I need to work through quite a few things which seem to bubble to the surface. I have been brave though and posted my cheque for the green parent weekend.

Children are Amazing

As is their resiliance. By lunch time on saturday JJ was just starting to eat again, the swelling reduced by half. By lunch time sunday he was back to his usual self with a little swelling, but not much. He still has the grazes, and we have to make an appt with our dentist (who is currently off sick!) for a check up and to see what happens next. Thank you all for your words of comfort and support, they've made a big difference over the last couple of days.

Yesterday was my brother in laws birthday so hubby took the kids and left me home alone for a couple of hours. I updated my website and my Misi shop as they'd been neglected, took the dog for a walk and got the tea ready - it was lovely. In the evening a made a couple more cat cards - white this time. Oh, this is the scarf I was knitting the other night too. It's quite a dinky one (perfect for a small child) as I only had 2 balls of this gorgeous Twilleys Freedom left.

Exciting

The first batch of soap is ready to put in the shop - lemon and tea tree (with coffee grounds).

Patchouli and orange will be ready this coming weekend - this is my favourite so far :o)

I've managed to make a couple more cards - one is an old style one and the other is a new one I'm trying. I seem to have found a little bit of my crafting energy back again - definitely think the weather has something to do with it (hubby working 12 hour days isn't helping either).

These are the mini stockings I started a couple of weeks ago. They're about 4inches high, open at the top, with a hessian loop and a couple of bells. Great for hanging on the tree, or using as gift tags with the label/note popped in the top (this is what I'll use mine for anyway ;o) ). Off to update the shop. Autumn blessings to everyone.
