Blimey.....

.....has it really been a fortnight since I last blogged!! We've been away this last weekend but other than that I don't really know where the time has gone. I don't seem to have made much either! Maybe it's the change in weather?! I did manage to finish the Mish-mash bright bunting before we went away so I'll try and get that in the shop later, and I also made some patchouli and orange soap yesterday. Got some san pro pockets to make for an order and a fabric tree to post today so I better get a shift on ;o).

Wow....

....I know I had the kids today, but I've managed to get loads done. I normally have to send hubby out with them for the day when I want to do this much, but I've just plodded on, while making lunch/tea, painting, inspecting lego pieces, looking at scripts, doing the loo run, checking out the artwork, etc. Above a set of 4 mini halloween bags that I made with a fat quarter that I've had for years waiting for me to do something with it. Not much point in it sitting there so bags it is.

Two more lots of bunting. Purply colours and black and white above.

Two fabric trees (one still inside out and one half way between). I'll attach felt leaves to these to make my autumn trees.

The inners for the san pro order I have at the minute. Just need to put the poppers on them now and then I can get them sent off.

Three beetles cut out ready to make some more bags with. I even had the iron out to iron the bunting so all the little bags got ironed as well!!! (I don't iron clothes so it's a rarity that it's out).

Paper bags ready for the craft fair at the end of the month. I'd like a Handmade Haven rubber stamp eventually, so I can stamp the bags.

And, just because we're VW mad in this house - a little treat with my earnings (how nice it is to say that too). While we were out yesterday I managed to crochet 2 head bands while hubby was driving.
Hope you all managed to do something you enjoy today, too.

Something else for me

.......bunting. Inbetween doing the san pro pockets I decided to make this for my birthday tomorrow - then I can save the blue bunting for the boys. I'm not girly, by a long shot, but sometimes we need something alittle more feminine don't we? Back to the san pro then :-).

Preparing for tomorrow's birthday

As we have a birthday in the house tomorrow, I've got the bunting and happy birthday sign that I made. The bunting is pieces of fabric cut to shape with pinking shears. I then tacked them inside a cotton strip and then hand-sewed them altogether. It's about 14ft in total.

I made this sign a few years ago. We used to hang one of those plastic 'throw-away' happy birthday signs. This was made using the word processor for the letters, which were cut out and then I laminated them (4 laminates in total). Much longer lasting and much nicer to look at.

I've been terribly grumpy the last few days and needed to 'make' something yesterday so I sat and knitted 3 leaves (one has mysteriously vanished) - not very exciting but, hey, something I'd not done before, and they only took about 10 mins each. I've also started some mini monsters to go in the Christmas stockings - managed to get 1 body, 2 arms and 1/2 a leg done - still 6 days to go so should be plenty of time, right ;-).
I also succummed to a 15% discount that ebay were offering me and bought some cocoa butter - not organic but something to get me started. Might just make some vanilla ones first as I have some vanilla extract in the cupboard - hope that works the same.
