Cor blimey...

I'm trying desperately to get organised but it's not working that well I have to say!  Every time I cross things off the list, it seems that another 2 are added!  I'm not feeling quite so overwhelmed this week, although still ridiculously busy.  Thank you all for the lovely comments on my last post.  They do help a lot.  I really don't know how these mum's that work full time, then ferry their kids here there and everywhere actually manage to do it. 

Anyway, enough whinging...I came to show you my first attempts at needle felting at Craft Group.  I did the brooch first.  We used some dis-solvable paper to use as a template then needle felted a flower, then a leaf.  I added the button at home once it was all dry.  I much preferred doing the picture - it's only 15cm x 11cm so quite dinky.  Next month is wet felting :o) 

I've had my best ever week sales wise this week which is fabulous as they've been no craft fairs either.  Obviously it means that not much housework has been done though!  Never mind ;o).  Why not pop over to my other blog to see my new additions.

Heartfelt

Last night was the craft group - there were 4 of us doing mosaics.  I forgot to take the camera to get a piccie of us all, but we all had a good time, mosaics were made, tea was drunk, laughs and heartfelt conversations were had.  The evening went too quick.  Roll on next month when we shall be attempting needle felting.

Success

The second craft evening was such fun :o).  We didn't have as many people as intended to be there, but it was good.  Lots of chatting and crafting ensued - it was so good to have people to craft with for a change too.  My sister even told me that she would like to attend the next one, which is a miracle as she doesn't really do crafting.  Success all round I think.  We shall be playing with broken tiles next month :o).

More Adventures and a big WOW!

The first adventure of the day (after all the running round and it's not even 10 o'clock yet!) was a trip to the barbers.  My middle son decided he wanted to have a change of hair style, and he didn't just want it all grade fouring like my eldest. 

Hope your ready for the big WOW!  Isn't he handsome?!  The poor hairdresser was a bit speechless when he told her what he wanted but she did a fab job (and I got a tuft to go in his baby book ;o) ).

The second adventure of the day was at home ed group.  Now we do pick the activities with the children in mind, but us forever-young children had to have a go too ;o).  Mosaics were done...I just used the square tiles but wished I'd done a proper mosaic with the broken tiles once I'd finished.  I'm going to use this as a pot stand in the kitchen, and we shall be adding this activity to the Craft Group that I started. 

On the subject of the craft group, we met for the first time on Tuesday.  There were three of us.  We did lots of talking and laughing, reading of craft books and magazines, no actual crafts were completed but we have a list ready for the next one in March.  There are supposed to be 10 of us in March!  I'll keep my fingers crossed for this adventure :o).

Another Adventure?

Another adventure?  I certainly hope so anyway.  Those of you who've followed me for a while will be aware of my failed attempt at getting a knitter knatter group going.  Well...I've just bitten the bullet and booked the village hall once a month for a small craft group.  The ladies at the home ed group really enjoy attempting crafty things, although not all of them like crocheting or knitting, so we thought we'd have a monthly meeting and just have a go (minus the children!).  It'll be very informal, and I'll definitely not be advertising unless the group initially works with just the ladies I know.  Hopefully, by starting small, and less often, it'll actually take off this time ;o).

Loving

Meat and tattie pie made from leftover brisket from Sundays dinner. Even better is the 2nd pie (below right) I managed to get out of the leftovers, so there's one gone in the freezer. I had enough pastry leftover to make a small apple pie - uncooked here....


....and out of the oven here, mmmmmmm.

I'm also loving this magazine. I know it has been mentioned on a few blogs already but I can't praise it enough. It may not be taxing enough for some crafters but for me it is fabulous, and it's full of pieces - whether they be vintage items of craft items (or vintage craft items ;o) ) - that just make me smile so much. It feels like the perfect magazine, and it also makes me realise I'm not an that much of an oddity either ;o). It's also made me realise that the Knitter Natter group is not exactly what I wanted either....I want something that is based around all fabric/yarn crafts, something where we can sit for the afternoon and craft away with a cuppa, where we can have a demo on something one month, where we can swap supplies/stories/laughs, where we can learn from each other....I think I better stop yearning and see how I can make this happen.
