Stuff

I can't believe it's beens so long since I was on here. We had no heating from Monday to Thursday - I just couldn't concentrate on doing much at all, let alone any sewing or knitting. I made up for it last night though, firstly finishing the scarf I was knitting with the Twilleys freedom wool. It's single rib, so it took a while, as well as 5 balls of wool until I got the length I wanted. Then I made Hubby's new phone pouch as he's been needing one for ages. Pure wool felt with a rocket on the front. Next came the 2 hearts, while watching QI. Felt much better doing something.

Today, I got the sewing machine out and finished the gift/party bags I started last week. Off to put some things in the shop now.

I didn't actually think I'd get it finished today but I did - yay - first time I've added tassels too.

Winner and knitting

The winner for my website giveaway was drawn at tea-time by my youngest. Pippa, I shall be contacting you regarding your bag.

I got so fed up with the cold weather yesterday I started knitting the scarf with the alpacca wool. I'm doing it the cheat way (knitting with two balls of wool and bigger needles) so it shouldn't take too long! Got 40ish cm done yesterday evening. Back to the san pro and bags after this evening ;-)

It's finished - no more luminous yellow wool for me - woohooooo.

Knitting scarfs and gnomes

Yesterday I sat and made one part of my GP Spring season table swap (piccie at the end of March) and then I started the luminous scarf which has been on my to-do list for ages. I kept putting it off because the wool is not nice to knit with (100% acrylic) and the colour is yellow! Anyway I then read Becks's blog about her knitting a scarf where she'd used two balls of wool together with bigger needles - fantastic. So now I've nearly finished it, and I'm trying to use all the wool so I don't have to knit Ds2 anything else with it :-).

I managed to get hold of another cork today so I knitted a yellow gnome. This is the first time I've knitted with 2 different colours as well. I've actually put a wanted post on the GP forum for corks, so they'll be breeding soon ;-).

Scarves

Should we really let our children decide the colour of wool they want for their scarf ;-). After saying he wanted black, he changed his mind in the shop. We are now knitting a luminous yellow/green hat and scarf.........mmmmmmmmmmmm.

Here's the finished scarf from yesterday. I have it on good authority that it is very warm. Very pleased.

Cards and Scarf

We've had a busy day today. We were supposed to go swimming but the weather was so miserable we didn't fancy it, so instead we made cream toffee, I made 14 Christmas cards and then this evening I finished the scarf (they'll be a photo of that tomorrow as ds1 took it to bed with him). Now ds2 would like a scarf too - this is great as he isn't usually bothered by things I make at all. The kids also want to make some different sweets to give as presents so that's another one for the list.

Also, one of the lovely mamas off the Green Parent forum has posted a recipe for bath melts (with coca butter) so I might just have to add them to the list too.

Scarf

Here's the scarf so far - it's well over a metre. DS1 wants it to cover his chin a couple of times so I think I've got a bit more to go.

The fabric from ebay arrived today - it's gorgeous. Once I've finished the scarf I can get on with the bag.

Scarf

After a really crappy day (results from the dog's biopsy came back and she has cancer (in-operable) I needed to do something easy this evening so I started the blue scarf for my eldest. Using really big needles (10mm) and the chunky denim wool so it will be quite loose. Got about 16cm done so far.
