Mmmmmmmmm....

............I could spend hours looking (and stroking) my new pile of felt. I only use pure wool felt, bought from Myriad, as it feels lovely, looks lovely, and is very easy to work with. Mmmmm.

I've had another order for felt food and a bag this weekend and decided to try a couple of new things to go in it. Can you tell what they are? (I really hope you can otherwise I'm buggered ;o) ). And here's all the pieces together ready for the bag.

Need a kick up the backside!

I don't know if it's a combination of the looonngggg winter or having the builders in since the beginning of January, but I've been doing bugger all these past few weeks. It still feels like I haven't stopped but I think that's just my brain whirring all the time with things that need doing, orders I should be doing, blah, blah, blah. I know I've been spending far too much time on the computer, though I don't really know what I've been doing as it's been 10 whole days since I posted on here! The things I have to show you (except for the card above) have all been made by talented mama's elsewhere. The card was for my nephew's birthday - the picture is one he loved and posted up on facebook so I printed it off, after resizing it, then made the card. I never got round to making the anniversary card, shame on me.


Now to the gifts we've received for the season swap on the Green Parent Forum. We have a pom pom chick, a daffodil, a rabbit and a hen. Thank you so much Daisypip, they are just beautiful.

This is a daffodil bud baby kit that I bought from Myriad. I was a little sceptical when I recieved it but it has come together beautifully.

These are the season swap gifts we received from Liz, as mentioned in the previous post. We've filled the bowl with our different eggs.

And just look at these gifts! Arn't they just gorgeous?! They were made by the most amazing crafting mama - go take a look at her blog. Dawn very kindly sent these as a surprise for me - my very own needle felted Mother Earth and her root children. Just gorgeous. Thank you so much xxxx.

So here is our season/nature table this year. We also have a vase with daffodils and forsythia in it but I don't put it on here in case the cats decide they are going to sit there! You'll have to excuse the dust - unfortunately the builders only clean the work area, not the rest of the house that likes to share plaster dust!!!!

Negatives and positives

Thank you all for your comments, they are greatly appreciated. Now I need to look at positives as there are far too many negatives going on at the minute so you'll have to forgive my next indulgence.

My ivory mirasol t'ika arrived this morning. It looks like the colour of a wash cloth when it's on its own but when put with the green it looks gorgeous. I've got 7 squares done with is so far.

Now I know I said I wasn't ordering any more bits but I went to make some of the things that had popped into my head the other day, only to find that I didn't have any of the felt that I needed - I hadn't realised that I'd used so much of my stash. Anyway, I went on Altered Element and placed an order. The service there is fantastic - I ordered 2 days ago and it arrived at 10 this morning.

And the much needed felt - woohoooooo. Right, off to keep my hands busy and try and stop my mind from whirring.

I love these

Yesterday I spent 3 hours untangling and winding 4 balls of the wool that still adorns the rug in our lounge. In the evening I wanted to do something different so I got that pink dandelion/fairy material out and started these. A bit of wadding on the back, then highlighted areas using metallic threads and beads. I then stitched this onto some matching felt. I made one last night and two this afternoon while sat with poorly toddler. Then I added them onto card using double sided sticky tape and brads. Happy birthday Stamp, inner sheets and envelopes finished them off. Hopefully I'll do some more later as I'm really enjoying these and they look fab (much better in the flesh, so to speak). These will definitely be in the shops later on.

My sister has asked me to make some lipsalve for her and my niece so I'm going to try and get that done once I've found some small jars.

The GP forum LETS scheme offers plenty of guilt free spending as well as a chance to earn credits. Here's one of my 'purchases' from the lovely Sarah - some chinese brocade fabric.

Here's another one of my 'purchases' (how nice that they all arrive on the same day) - a gorgeous daffodil child made from felt. She is sooo beautiful - thank you SF.

And lastly, I needed some more brooch pins so I ordered some from paper-and-string again - the service there is fantastic. Added a couple more items to make the parcel worthwhile you understand.

I've been naughty again....

I just can't seem to help myself ;-). They are so gorgeous, how can anyone resist! I know, I know...I really must resist. Buttons and felt from the wonderful Altered Element (in my defence the buttons in the packs were in the sale, so they were a bargain, right). Then some lovely 100% wool felt for the brooches I want to make and for the kids to use. Then the corks arrived from the wonderful Claire from the GP forum. Thanks very much - right off to knit some gnomes.

I found them :-) These are the season table swap items I made. The top one is a collecting bowl for putting things in and the second is a felt robin.

Art-on-the-go bag and Holly Fairy

This is my felt pencil roll that I made to go in my art-on-the-go bag. I took the inspiration for this from the creative family by Amanda Blake Soule. I treat myself to some Lyra Super Furby pencils from Myriad to go in it.

And this is the aforementioned art-on-the-go bag. I made it out of some curtain liners and some fabric I got in our local scrapstore. Inside the bag is the pencil roll, an art book from Myriad, some Derwent watercolour pencils in a tin, a wooden ruler and pencil sharpener from Myriad, 2 mandala colouring books and a small watercolour pad bought in The Works in tow. I not a very good drawer but you have to give it a go don't you. I love to colour-in though, I find it very theraputic.

This is my latest sewing creation. It is from a kit I bought from Myriad (I think I need to buy some shares in this company :-) ). I sat and made this last night - quite fiddly and I wasn't sure whether I liked it as much as the Toadstool fairy, but I'm coming round to like it. I'll try and put a better picture on as this one is a little blurred.
